The reason why Satan through his evil followers created the globe earth lie around 500 years ago was to confuse and manipulate people away from God your Creator. That the earth is flat is part of the fundamental believe that God truly exist, and that you are wonderfully and perfectly made in His image. The serpent was a dragon and more cunning and smart than any other animal which God had made.
